Kim Tanskanen - Owner&Team Director

Hi, I am Kim Tanskanen. My goal is for everyone to have a pleasant experience atM.E.G.A., and to take home memories that will last a lifetime. You will see me on the floor coaching the competitive team. I love to watch young children learn and grow into young, healthy, responsible adults. I am grateful to the parents who support our programs, and to our staff who are committed to makingM.E.G.A.a great experience for our students. I have a wonderful husband, Juha, a daughter Kaia, and a son Ari. I look forward to seeing you at M.E.G.A!

Juha Tanskanen - Owner&Team Director

My gymnastics experience stretches for over a quarter of a century during which time I have competed, coached, or judged all over the world. I have coached European medalists and a World Champion, but the biggest enjoyment is to coach young children and see them overcome their obstacles and the sincere joy it brings to them. Besides all the happy memories from around the world, this sport has given me a priceless trophy-my family. My wife, Kim, and children, Kaia and Ari spend all their time at the gym as well, so you will be seeing a lot of us. I want to welcome every boy and girl to the MEGA family to experience the fun challenges of gymnastics regardless of your skill level, age or future goals.

Amy Fringer

Hi! My name is Amy Fringer. You can“spot”me with the preschool or class program children or in the Office. I have 2 daughters, Madison and Chloe’. I love to watch your children develop into strong, healthy young adults through physical fitness and the sport of gymnastics. I also enjoy developing relationships with all the parents of these wonderful children.

Sue Wolter

Hi! My name is Sue Wolter. You can find me at the front desk or cheering our MEGA gymnasts at a meet. I am married and have 2 children, Trent and Caitlyn. My daughter Caitlyn is on the competitive team here at MEGA and my son Trent is a travel hockey player for the Suburban Stars. I love the fun and friendly atmosphere we have here at MEGA.

Coach Josh

Hello, my name is Coach Josh, not to be confused with the other Coach Josh. I am originally from the great state of Minnesota where I coached gymnastics for over 9 years. You will find me working with the girls and boys competitive teams (I shouldn’t be too hard to spot because I’m pretty tall). I think Gymnastics is the best and most challenging sport in the word, and I love seeing kids master new skills and overcome the many obstacles they will face in the sport. I love Gymnastics because it teaches kids the value of hard work and dedication and helps kids develop not only into great athletes, but great people as well.

Coach Brad

Hello, my name is Coach Brad. I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002. While at U of M, I was a member of two Big Ten and one National Championship Team. I was also a two time All-American on Vault. I have coached gymnastics (men and women) for over five years. I have coached multiple state, regional and national champions. I enjoy watching athletes master new skills and overcome the many obstacles they will face in the sport. Gymnastics teaches kids the value of hard work and dedication and helps kids develop not only into great athletes, but great people as well.

Coach Cynthia

Hello, my name is Coach Cynthia. I am the Prep-Optional and Fitness Director. Along with being a former Level 10 gymnast, I am also a Certified Personal Trainer and massage therapist. I have a passion for building girl’s self esteem and encouraging each one to embrace their individual gifts and talents. I look forward to coaching your children in all aspects of their physical fitness.

Coach Kelly

Hi, my name is Coach Kelly! I have over 25 years of experience in Gymnastics and Dance. For two summers I attended the internationally acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy for dance. I have coached many athletes to state and regional titles. I enjoy watching children persevere at reaching their goals and being the best they can be. I look forward to helping each and every child at MEGA to become responsible young adults.

Hi! My name is Coach Monique. I have been involved in gymnastics for over ten years and I absolutely love the sport. I attend Central Michigan University with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Nutrition. You can find me coaching in all areas of MEGA. GO MEGA!!

Hi! My name is Coach Bill. I have two beautiful daughters, Madison and Chloe’. I have been involved in the sport of gymnastics for approximately ten years. I have a definite love of children and a desire to see all children achieve their own personal successes and goals. I look forward to coaching your child at Michigan Elite Gymnastics Academy.

Coach Neal

Hi, I am Coach Neal. I am one of the competitive Boys Team Coaches. I have been coaching boy’s competitive gymnastics since 1997. I was a competitive gymnast in Junior and Senior High School in Ohio, and for 4 years at Eastern Michigan University. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with the younger athletes so they can grow to the best of their potential.

Miss Sue

Hi. My name is Miss Sue. You will find me teaching preschool classes or working in the office. I am married and have three children. My son Josh plays hockey&baseball. Rachel and Katie are both on the competitive team at MEGA. I love coaching young children and helping them to develop their physical, emotional and social skills while doing a great sport like gymnastics. You will probably hear us having lots of fun and singing songs as we learn new gymnastics skills.

Hi Y’all! My name is Miss Carol Ann. My family and I came to MEGA by way of North Carolina. My beautiful girls, Bailee and Brilee, are proud to be MEGA gymnasts! Hello, I am Miss Lisa! I graduated from Davenport University in 1998 with a Business degree. I have also been a massage therapist since 2000. My 2 girls Sydney and Kiara are competitive team gymnast at MEGA. I truly enjoy teaching your children and watching them grow as gymnasts.

Holly Patterson

Holly Patterson has been a certified teacher in the local community for the past 5 years. She has taught both 2nd and 3rd grade and loves to watch young minds develop. She recieved her Masters Degree in Education from Marygrove College 3 years ago and currently holds a professional teaching certificate. Holly is passionate about children and is always looking for ways to be a better teacher.
